I am a resident of the Town of Huntington, and see that our seniors and young people are struggling to stay on Long Island due to the high costs of housing. We need a solution to this problem now.

The AvalonBay at Huntington Station project will provide affordable housing for rent and homeownership with a walking path to the train station and a shuttle which will help to reduce traffic and congestion.

Please approve the AvalonBay project and ensure that our residents can stay in the Town of Huntington.

I am a resident of the Town of Hempstead who is deeply concerned by the lack of affordable housing on Long Island.  I have heard about the Lighthouse project and feel that it can alleviate some of the housing crisis in the Town of Hempstead and the Hamlet of Uniondale.

As a resident, I request that the Town of Hempstead demand from the developers of this project to include 20% of the development to be affordable housing on-site and spread throughout the development.

The reality is that the Lighthouse project is going to be built on land owned by Nassau County, so it must benefit its residents.

I enthusiastically support the 20% affordable housing within this project and hope that the Town of Hempstead will understand the importance of this project.

Dear Supervisor Phil Nolan,

I am a lifelong resident of the Town of Islip. I know that Long Island has a significant affordable housing crisis. It has become increasing difficult to live here, as our children, senior citizens and homeowners are being forced to move out.

Affordable housing with a smart growth component is greatly needed throughout all of Long Island.

I encourage you to approve the Heartland Project, which includes a percentage of affordable housing along with providing jobs and revenue for our community.
